Designed to be Timeless
Designers Karl Lohnes and Peter Paquette collaborated, designing a kitchen that includes a timeless color scheme, endless storage opportunities and upgraded appliances that every home-cook dreams of.
Karl Lohnes, Designer and Editor-at-Large at Canadian design magazine, Style at Home, joined forces with Designer, Peter Paquette of 1982 Design to spearhead the design of a client’s recent kitchen renovation.
After purchasing the home in the late 2000s, the homeowners were seeking a major change. The requested “wants and needs” included better integration of the adjacent dining room and patio, increased storage, and advanced appliances. The daughter is an enthusiastic home chef, and so having a full suite of upgraded appliances was a must-have in the upgrade. This is where Fulgor Milano came into play.
The Fulgor Milano 30” Built-In Sofia Professional Coffee Machine as well as the 36” Sofia Professional Range were chosen for the space and fits swiftly with the overall design. A hidden cabinet and drawer system was included beneath the Sofia Professional coffee machine to hold all coffee and tea fixings for easy accessibility when making those morning (and afternoon) cups.
“The coffee machine was a splurge but a great investment, as they use it several times a day”, says Karl Lohnes.
The rest of the kitchen space includes upper cabinetry for additional storage with a softer color scheme chosen for the space. Karl and Peter noted that warm greys, stones, and taupes are currently trending but will also remain timeless for years to come. The overall project encompasses everything that the homeowners dreamed of, including upgraded, luxury appliances that offer features every cook desires.
