When he’s not off traveling the world or reviewing the latest Mercedes CLA AMG Series, Justin can be found working on the design of his investment properties. He recently took on the complete redesign of a  downtown Victoria, BC condo with gorgeous views of the city. Join us as he walks us through the process and why he chose Fulgor Milano appliances.

Tell us about the loft space and your vision for the finished kitchen. What was the inspiration behind the design?

The vision for this design project was to give it a sense of seamless minimalism and a significant focus on an open kitchen design to open up the space. Although the kitchen was initially relatively compact, the goal was to add raw materials, technological integration, and high-quality fixtures. With any remodel, the kitchen is where you can make an immediate statement. The design finishes to the appliance selection set the stage for how the rest of the unit comes together. It is often where the most time, budget, and inspiration stem from during a complete remodel design process.

Why did you choose Fulgor Milano appliances for this project?

As the kitchen is the first thing you notice when you walk into the loft space, we wanted to ensure that the design and appliances were high quality, tech-advanced, and eye-catching. Did you encounter any challenges during the design process?

This project, in particular, did encounter a few mysteries when it came to the engineering and layout of the kitchen remodel. However, as with most projects, once our team came together and problem solved, it made the process and the end result much more fulfilling. By opening up the kitchen entirely and utilizing the original doored laundry room, I realized right away that an integrated fridge and wide backsplash would open the kitchen up nicely in an ideal scenario. But, with steel vent piping affixed from the unit above, some rotations and adjustments to end-pieces were needed to modify the dividing wall accordingly. In the end, the unit was added to seamlessly house the Fulgor 30” Built-In fridge beautifully.

What do you like most about Fulgor Milano luxury appliances?

With any product selection, it begins with the story behind it. Fulgor Milano is a brand that has over 70 years of experience and engineering in its products and has focused on traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, and technological innovation. In a luxury remodel, the goal is to elevate the space in every way possible, not only through design but also in updating the appliance’s fixtures and optimizing the space and utility as well as possible. Why did you choose to use panel-ready models for the fridge and dishwasher?

Panel-ready products have become increasingly popular and are often attributed to a truly bespoke design approach. With such a significant focus on kitchen millwork and integration, I always like to integrate certain appliances wherever possible, and it truly completes the seamless look. Upon opening the fridge and dishwasher, the world of premium Fulgor products stands out immediately through the touchscreen interface of the refrigerator and robust design of the dishwasher. As beautiful as it is functional, the Fulgor Built-In Fridge features a brilliant white aluminum interior. The robust doors protect contents from external temperature and humidity changes which can damage stored items. In addition, the dishwasher is a perfect complement to the rest of the cooking appliances.
